Church School Convention
Special Church-Wide Project
The Church School Convention is Friday & Saturday, June 27th and 28th. We have finalized plans for the project and Elder Rhone is expecting for all of the churches on the district to participate. Like Last year, we are looking to bring awareness to and develop long term relationships with our communities.
Our theme this year is "Transforming Families; Transforming Lives" featuring a special production entitled "OHANA: No One Left Behind...Or Forgotten". “Ohana means family - and family means no one gets left behind or forgotten”. The goal of the convention is centered on bringing awareness to adoption and foster care in our community.
In an effort to support the children affected by foster care, we are asking for an entire church effort to supply the items below to fill each of the bags with the following items:

Shampoo/ Conditioner

Deodorant
-
Brush/ combs/ Picks
-
Toothbrush/Toothpaste
-
Wash Cloths or puffs
-
Soap or Body Wash
-
Pens/ Pencils/ Crayons
-
Journals/ Coloring books
-
Lotion
-
Small Blankets
-
Bath Towels
-
Water Bottles
-
Hair bows/ hair oil/ ribbons
Why are we in need of these items? Many times when children and youth are taken out of homes, they have very little or no time to grab anything and oftentimes leave their homes with whatever they can put in a trash bag, or whatever they can carry in their arms. This is an entire church effort. So we are asking for the YPD’s, WMS, Sunday school/ Class leaders and Sons of Allen to assist with this very inexpensive effort that would touch children in crisis in an amazing way.
All of the items to fill the bags need to be collected and dropped off at Turner Chapel no later than Friday, June 27th. Thank you for your willingness to serve our children in crisis in this manner. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
